Ethanol Bailout?

Ethanol Bailout? Time To Shuck Corn

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, December 26, 2008 4:20 PM PT

Recent legislation mandated increased ethanol use as well as a 51-cent-a-gallon tax credit and more corn subsidies. Over the last two decades the ethanol industry has been kept alive with more than $25 billion in federal handouts. Yet it still can't compete.

Five of Iowa's 32 ethanol plants are in bankruptcy. They are operated by Sioux Falls, S.D.-based ethanol giant VeraSun Energy, which itself filed for Chapter 11 on Oct. 31. Eleven plants in other states have also fallen into bankruptcy. Nationally the ethanol plant failure rate is at 8.8% and could reach 22% in short order.

The Renewable Fuels Association, the industry's lobbying arm, has talked with Team Obama about further handouts such as $1 billion in short-term credit to keep failing plants in operation and $50 billion in loan guarantees to build more. The association wants to increase the 10% ethanol limit in gasoline for conventional cars and trucks and require that any carmaker getting federal funds produce only vehicles that can run on any blend up to 85% ethanol. ...

According to a report from the Hoover Institute's Henry Miller and professor Colin Carter of the University of California, Davis, "ethanol yields about 30% less energy per gallon of gasoline, so miles per gallon in internal combustion engines drop significantly." So the per-mile cost is actually higher at the pump. Meanwhile, it raises the food prices at the supermarket you drive to.

Corn ethanol is less energy efficient and costs more. It generates less than two units of energy for every unit of energy used to produce it. It takes 1,700 gallons of water to produce one gallon of ethanol. Each acre of corn requires 130 pounds of nitrogen and 55 pounds of phosphorous.

Food for thought and food for your automobile!

More bad legislation by Congress, more trouble for Auto Industry, and more junk science.

Obama Society Connection--Change.gov

Document drop: The story behind Change.gov

By Michelle Malkin • December 20, 2008 09:52 AM

1) It would be a a violation of the government’s naming conventions (too generic); and

2) using ‘change’ in the domain name would be political, since it was the trademark slogan of the Obama campaign.

Go to Document drop: to see original.

If the Constitution doesn't apply to the Obama Society, why should any other law?
More to come. You can count on that.

Obama Society Connection--Holder

Blago appointed Obama’s AG to probe corruption; probe found no corruption; Holder forgets the whole thing

By Michelle Malkin • December 17, 2008 11:33 AM

Ah, the Chicago way.

So: Governor Blago appoints Obama AG nominee Eric Holder to investigate corruption. Holder receives $300,000 for his legal services. Corruption probe finds no wrongdoing.

And, oops, Holder neglects to mention all this on his AG questionnaire. See the questionnaire for yourselves here.

Ooops: More Chicago Change you can believe in.

The Brains behind The Magician

Soros-Funded Democratic Idea Factory Becomes Obama Policy Font
By Edwin Chen Bloomberg.com
Last Updated: November 18, 2008 00:01 EST
Thanks in part to funding from benefactors such as billionaire George Soros, the Center for American Progress has become in just five years an intellectual wellspring for Democratic policy proposals, including many that are shaping the agenda of the new Obama administration. ...

CAP's president and founder, John Podesta, 59, former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, is one of three people running the transition team for president-elect Barack Obama, 47. A squadron of CAP experts is working with them. ...

To help promote its ideas, CAP employs 11 full-time bloggers who contribute to two Web sites, ThinkProgress and the Wonk Room; others prepare daily feeds for radio stations. The center's policy briefings are standing-room only, packed with lobbyists, advocacy-group representatives and reporters looking for insights on where the Obama administration is headed. ...

Just eight days after the Nov. 4 election, CAP released a 300,000-word volume called ``Change for America: A Progressive Blueprint for the 44th President'' that offers advice on issues such as economic revival and fixing the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Work on the book began almost a year ago. ...

CAP, which has 180 staffers and a $27 million budget, devotes as much as half of its resources to promoting its ideas through blogs, events, publications and media outreach.

U.S. Government Ponzi Scheme

Is Bernard Madoff Running the Federal Government?

AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | December 18, 2008

In terms of the financial “rescue” package, Bloomberg’s latest estimate is that the cost has reached a staggering $7.7 trillion.

Peter Schiff of Euro Pacific Capital points out that “The Social Security Administration runs its ‘trust funds’ with precisely the same methods used by Madoff and Ponzi. As money is collected from current workers, the funds are then dispersed to those already receiving benefits. None of the funds collected are actually invested, so no investment returns are ever generated. Those currently paying into the system are expected to receive their returns based on the ‘contribution’ made by future workers.”

He adds, “The United States Government runs its own balance sheet based on the Ponzi principal as well. Our national debt always grows and never shrinks. As existing debt matures, proceeds are repaid by issuing new debt. Interest payments on existing debt are also made by selling new debt to investors. The whole scheme depends on an ever growing supply of new lenders, or the willingness of existing lenders, to continue to roll over maturing notes. Of course, as was the case with Madoff, if enough of our creditors want their money back, the music stops playing.”

In terms of the financial “rescue” package, Bloomberg’s latest estimate is that the cost has reached a staggering $7.7 trillion.

A more recent estimate, provided in a Politico.com story by Jeanne Cummings, is $8.7 trillion. She reported, “According to Bianco Research President James Bianco, who crunched these numbers, that amounts to more government aid and assistance than nine other historic bailouts and big government outlays combined.”

B.H. Obama (The Magician) Transparency

Transparency in the BHO Government will be defined as, 'you will see only what BHO wants you to see'. Remember, How Can I Fool Them again Today?

The best way to interpret what BHO and other Dems will do is to watch what they accuse Bush of doing, or having done. Since they have a criminal and selfish mind, they view a program that Bush proposes through the eyes of how they would implement it. They can't even call a win, a win, in Iraq. Watch the slight of hand: A Centrist selection is a CoverYourA.. appointment.

Remember BHO Transparency so far:
  1. Transparent Birth Certificate
  2. Transparent knowledge of Rev. Wright
  3. Transparent knowledge of Rezko connections
  4. Transparent ACORN connections
  5. Transparent Annenburg connections
  6. Transparent Ayers connections
  7. Transparent records from High School, College, and State Senate
  8. Transparent Hussein during election, but not now
  9. Transparent African connections
  10. Transparent Chicago connections
  11. Transparent Chicago Senate selection information
  12. Transparent Iraq war success
  13. Transparent Fund raising
  14. Transparent Lobbying connections
  15. Transparent U.N. bills already approved by Congress
B. Hussein Obama, The Magician--How can I fool the suckers again today? He's even better than Bill Clinton, for now. But how long will it last?

Interesting Link to Los Angeles Times:
While Barack Obama talks, Tony Rezko sings
Without explanation, District Judge Amy St. Eve canceled her own deadlines for lawyers to file briefs on the upcoming sentencing of Antoin "Tony" Rezko. ...

Because Rezko, in the hopes of reducing his sentence, is singing in his cell about Blagojevich and maybe others. He's not done with his song repertoire and the feds haven't fully checked out his information to determine how grateful to be in sentence-seeking.
Because of the BHO Mafia, I'm betting the tune the we, the suckers, hear is "Selective Singing."

Have you seen this reported on TV? BHO Media protects the tricks.
(Good coverage of Bush in Iraq and Afghanistan if you like shoes. Must be lot of good news.)

Good thing BHO is not Republican, his goose would be cooked. Of course he couldn't have got this far with this record, but he could have been indited.

Government Greed--Congress Does It Again

Mileage Bill Draws Fire From Buyer of Chrysler
By Nick Bunkley of New York Times
July 12, 2007
ROCHESTER, Mich., July 11 — John W. Snow, the chairman of the private equity firm that is buying Chrysler, said Wednesday that a Senate bill to significantly raise fuel economy standards could devastate the American auto industry.
The Democratic controlled Senate and House is responsible for the auto mess. They are responsible for new fuel standards and diesel prices being high. And for what reason? Power is their goal, power over you. We can compete in World Markets, we just can't compete in the U.S. because of Government Greed.

You keep giving them more power at our expense. You can expect it to get worse, much worse, before it gets better.

Who is Unnamed Adviser?

Blagojevich’s Big Conference Call and Valerie Jarrett’s Clean Break

Washington Wire by Cam Simpson reports on Rod Blagojevich.

The call lasted about two hours. On the phone were Mr. Blagojevich, his wife, his general counsel, an unnamed adviser, and John Harris, the governor’s chief of staff and his co-defendant in this week’s case.

But what’s drawing the most interest is who was on the line from Washington, and the sequence of political events that followed that same night and in the ensuing days regarding Barack Obama’s close friend and adviser, Valerie Jarrett.

Any bets on Rahm Emanuel? Any bets he exposed Blago?

Transparency and candor is not B. Hussein Obama's strong suit. Expect BHO Administration to perfect the Clinton Administration tactic of How Do I Fool them Today?

I'm forecasting a new BHO Lawyer Stimulus Department (LSD) to handle the corruption and new laws needed to protect the BHO Administration from the Constitution and the American People. Remember, they already control the Legislative and The Judicial Branch.

Obama Personnel

Obama Cabinet and beyond

The Hill is closely tracking the personnel moves of the Obama administration. The list below includes official appointments and names being floated for key posts.

Obama's cadre of advisers

Keep an eye on these characters.

Obama Society Connection--Emil Jones

What Emil Jones' Move Means for Obama
The Huffington Post by Ben Calhoun on Aug 20, 2008.

It's now been a couple days since Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones announced his retirement. The same day he broke the news, Jones filed papers hoping to pull off an old distasteful trick of Illinois politics--to have Democratic Party bosses pass his political office to his child. Jones has been slammed in the press, but he's defended his choice publicly.

Still, the maneuver has started to raise questions about whether the controversy could be a potential problem for one of Jones' political mentees, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

The key question is, "Can Obama clean up the Illinois/Chicago Government corruption and survive at the same time, or will he just continue it in Washington"?

I'm betting on the latter because it's already entrenched in Washington since the 2006 Elections, as witnessed by Obama's selection as President in 2008.

The Chicago Mafia is back, if it was ever gone, but the Obama Mafia will nationalize it. Just imagine Chicago government on a national scale. Doesn't that give you confidence in our future?

A Resolution Hint for Fitzgerald: Start by wiring Rahm Emanuel if you want to get to the top of this corruption. (Over Fitzgerald's dead body will this ever happen.)

If you can't trust Obama Government and Obama Media now, who can you trust? Start with the Chicago Mafia.

Obama Senate Seat

Democratic Party Scandal: How High Will It Go?
By Rick Moran
The big news, of course, is the governor's attempt to sell the senate seat of Barack Obama. Incredibly, it appears that he tried to get the best deal by shopping the seat to as many as 7 potential candidates -- including, indirectly, Barack Obama.

ABC News: Sources Say Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is 'Senate Candidate #5 '

By BRIAN ROSS

Dec. 10, 2008

Chicago Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., is the anonymous "Senate Candidate No. 5" whose emissaries Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich reportedly offered up to $1 million to name him to the U.S. Senate, federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

Obama Senate Seat For Sale?
according to The Smoking Gun
In a November 11 conversation, Blagojevich remarked that he knew Obama wanted Valerie Jarrett, a longtime confidante, to succeed him, "but they're not willing to give me anything except appreciation....

Senate Candidate 1" is Jarrett. "Senate Candidate 2" is Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. Emil Jones, an Illinois state legislator, is "Senate Candidate 5." And "Senate Candidate 6" appears to be J.P. Pritzker, a wealthy Chicago businessman. Additionally, Rahm Emanuel, the incoming White House chief of staff, is referred to in the affidavit as "President-elect Advisor."
Rahm Emanuel had to stop this before it connected all of the Chicago/Obama Connection on record. Everyone knows what's going on, but who is too intimidated to expose it.

Even the Supreme Court has been challenged, but failed to stop the corruption.

It goes one, and on, and on.

This is the Change you can count on.

Obama Society Connection--Blagojevich

Rod Blagojevich, Was Convicted Of 18 Counts Of Fraud And Other Offenses Involving The Use Of Influence In State Government To Squeeze Companies Seeking To Do Business With The State For Kickbacks." (Mike Robinson, "Rezko Lawyers Want Wife To Keep Money," The Associated Press, 7/17/08)

Just the beginning--Obama Society Connection exposed.

Is this another "moment of truth" of what happens when you challenge Obama, or just the initial outing of Chicago/Obama corruption?

So This is the Change You Wanted?

And now for a world government

FT.com

By Gideon Rachman

Published: December 8 2008 19:13 | Last updated: December 8 2008 19:13

I have never believed that there is a secret United Nations plot to take over the US. I have never seen black helicopters hovering in the sky above Montana. But, for the first time in my life, I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible.

A “world government” would involve much more than co-operation between nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a body of laws. The European Union has already set up a continental government for 27 countries, which could be a model. The EU has a supreme court, a currency, thousands of pages of law, a large civil service and the ability to deploy military force.
