1.) He voted for partial birth abortion.

Not a recognized medical procedure. I also don't think he is "in favor" of it but rather does not want to put the child's life ahead of the mother's. Which should be first?

2.) He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

Very difficult I agree. Should be some safety net, but how many people that have to go through such a thing don't have the parents they should-or even maybe the parent was the problem to begin with .

3.) Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government (quotas).

Disagree with affirmative action.

4.) In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being too severe.

Be specific about what "drug dealing" is. Trafficking? Personal use? Filling prisons with people that have drug problems doesn't relieve their drug problems.

5.) Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.

See above to begin the discussion.

6.) Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and in college.

would you rather him lie about it? Plenty of others have done that too, i.e. the commander in chief.

7.) His religious convictions are very murky.

I'm not sure how this matters or is anyone elses business. Also what murkiness scale was used to determine his commitment?

8.) He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

For coffee?

9.) Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations. Why?

Are you kidding?

10.) Opposed the Patriot Act.

Parts are good and parts are not so good.

11.) The first bill he signed that was ever passed was campaign finance reform.

I'm all for the first amendment, but I don't think my $10 or $1000 would have quite as much influence as Exxon's contribution.

12.) Voted to allow law suits against gun manufacturers.

Difficult.

13.) Supports universal health-care.

We've already got it, everybody. It's just not getting paid for.

14.) Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.

It's the least we can do if we're gonna torture them . . .

15.) Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

As long as they register for the draft and start paying taxes . . .

16.) Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.

See above . . .

17.) Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.

Just in case that big fence doesn't keep them out?

18.) Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

See above

19.) Wants to make the minimum wage a 'living wage'.

As opposed to a getting by just barely kinda wage.

20.) Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes. (241 votes Demo, 10 votes Republican)

21.) Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.

You mean like that George Washington guy?

22.) Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid into Soc. Sec. (Tax Increase).

I don't want to give any more of my money to Republican or Democrats than you do.

23.) He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax which now hits middle income brackets. (Tax Increase).

I probably would have voted yes.

24.) He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. (Tax Increase).

Would have voted yes.

25.) He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. (Tax Increase).

These aren't tax increases people. . . .

26.) Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded...which is not true.

It's not the first time anyone has played politics.

27.) He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

Hopefully he won't be there that long . . . .

1.) He voted for partial birth abortion.

Are you sure he didn't just vote against prohibiting the same?

2.) He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

Does this mean he voted to prohibit minors who get out-of-state abortions from notifying their parents?

3.) Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government (quotas).

What form of affirmative action does he support? Source?

4.) In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being too severe.

That’s near meaningless; it’s like saying, “X supports harsher punishments for criminals.” The average American will be like “Yeah, I support punishing criminals!” Even if X actually said, “I support the death penalty for speeders.”

5.) Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.

What the hell does this even mean? Is he going to enforce minimum wage upon street dealers? Prosecute a few cartels?

6.) Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and in college.

Interesting… if he used marijuana and cocaine in high school and proceeded to meet with such success, maybe they’re not as bad as they’re purported to be? Maybe we should see him as a shining example of the broadened view attainable while under the influence of such chemicals. Perhaps we should be removing prohibitions on such chemicals?

7.) His religious convictions are very murky.

Perhaps he makes decisions based on thought and observation of the world around him? (as opposed to making decisions based on fiction before his birth that will purportedly have their effects after his death?)

8.) He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

And opening a dialogue with people with whom one disagrees is a bad thing?

9.) Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations. Why?

Could it be because such historically marginalized nations are having a greater effect on the world today?

10.) Opposed the Patriot Act.

Supported the constitution and the rights granted to citizens therein?

11.) The first bill he signed that was ever passed was campaign finance reform.

Senators don’t sign bills. Ironically, a topic notably heralded by the opposition (or have you forgot McCain-Feingold?)

12.) Voted to allow law suits against gun manufacturers.

Since the inception of the country, anyone has been able to sue gun manufacturers.

13.) Supports universal health-care.

As does the opposition & the incumbent.

14.) Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.

What is the downside here? It is not a blanket release; this merely stipulates that they be formally charged and allows them the right to contest in court.

15.) Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

I agree; this is ridiculous. He should support free entrance to/exit from the nation.

16.) Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.

See above.

17.) Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.

This sounds like a good thing?

18.) Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

Good. Maybe this will hasten the collapse of the system & lead to its demise.

19.) Wants to make the minimum wage a 'living wage'.

This should increase the demand for undocumented workers.

20.) Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes. (241 votes Demo, 10 votes Republican)

News flash. Obama is running for president under the flag of the Democratic Party.

21.) Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.

I thought he had murky religious convictions? This seems crystal clear (not to mention constitutionally-supported).

22.) Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid into Soc. Sec. (Tax Increase).
23.) He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax which now hits middle income brackets. (Tax Increase).
24.) He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. (Tax Increase).
25.) He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. (Tax Increase).
26.) Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded...which is not true.

Perhaps, your definitions of “success” are not the same?

27.) He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

By whom?
